John D. Cappasola, Jr. , , , President and Chief Executive Officer

John D. Cappasola, Jr. has been Del Taco’s Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors since July 2017. Mr. Cappasola also serves as Del Taco’s President and has held that role since January 2017. From February 2011 to July 2017, Mr. Cappasola served as the company’s Chief Brand Officer, where he was instrumental in Del Taco’s successful brand repositioning that significantly enhanced the company’s menu and food. His involvement also helped foster a culture of partnership and collaboration among Del Taco’s people and franchisees to dramatically improve the guest experience.

Mr. Cappasola also held the position of Executive Vice President from July 2012 to January 2017. From March 2009 to July 2012, he served as Del Taco’s Vice President of Marketing. From September 2008 to March 2009, he served as Vice President of Marketing Development. From August 2002 to September 2008, Mr. Cappasola held various positions in marketing, strategic development and operations at Blockbuster, Inc. of Dallas, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from California Coast University.

Steven L. Brake , , , Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Steven L. Brake has been Del Taco’s Executive Vice President since July 2012. He is also the Chief Financial Officer and has held that position since April 2010 and previously served as Treasurer from March 2006 to April 2010 and as the Corporate Controller from September 2003 to March 2006. From December 1995 until September 2003 Mr. Brake was with Arthur Andersen and KPMG LLP. Mr. Brake is a licensed certified public accountant (inactive) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine and a Masters in Business Administration from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.

David Pear , , , Senior Vice President of Operations

David Pear has been Del Taco’s Senior Vice President of Operations since January 2012. From January 2009 to January 2012, Mr. Pear served as Director of DMA Operations for Taco Bell of Yum Brands. From 1985 to January 2009, Mr. Pear held various positions with Domino’s Pizza, Inc., including Vice President Operations for Arizona from 2004 to 2008, and West Zone Vice President from 1994 to 2004. Mr. Pear has over 25 years of restaurant experience. Mr. Pear earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Barry Westrum , , , Chief Marketing Officer

Barry Westrum has been Del Taco's Chief Marketing Officer since August 2017. He previously held the position of Executive Vice President of Marketing for International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ), a Berkshire Hathaway-owned company. Before IDQ, he spent 17 years with Yum! Brands, working his way up to Senior Director of Brand Marketing in 2007. Mr. Westrum also held positions as Chief Marketing Officer at KFC USA, Chief Marketing Officer of A&W and Long John Silver's Restaurants, and Dean of the Yum "Know How and Innovation Center." He began his career at Tracy-Locke Advertising. Mr. Westrum holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Advertising from California State University, Fullerton.
